# What does Below Payout Threshold mean?

> Why the payout button on your dashboard is greyed out, and when it becomes available.

Your record company sets a minimum balance before a payout is worth making. **Below Payout Threshold** means you haven't reached it yet, so the button is greyed out.

Hover over the button to see the exact threshold. Once your payable balance passes it, the button becomes **Request Payout**.

## The other labels on that button

**Request Payout.** You're above the threshold and can ask to be paid.

**View Request.** You already have a payout in progress. The button takes you to [Payments](/artists/overview/payments).

**Different Currency.** Your balance is in a currency the threshold can't be compared against. The threshold applies to one currency, so a balance in another can't be measured against it. Ask your record company how to be paid in that currency.

  You only see this button if your record company has set you up to request payouts yourself. Otherwise your record company decides when to pay, and no button appears.
