# What do the Income, Costs and Payments boxes mean?

> What the three figures below your payable balance add up.

The three boxes below your payable balance summarise what has flowed through your account.

**Income.** Royalties earned across your published statements.

**Costs.** Costs charged against your earnings, such as recording or marketing costs your deal makes recoupable.

**Payments.** What has been paid out to you.

Costs and Payments are shown as positive numbers even though both reduce what you're owed. The label tells you the direction.

  If your deal is publishing only, there are no recoupable costs and the **Costs** box isn't shown.

Each currency appears on its own line, and currencies are never combined.
