# Which currency are the amounts in?

> Where the currency comes from, and what happens with sales reported in others.

Your statement is in the currency of your deal, set by your record company. There's no currency selector in the portal, and nothing you can switch it to.

Sales come in from stores all over the world in their own currencies. Your record company converts them as part of running the period, using the exchange rates they set for that period, and your royalty is calculated from the converted amounts. The Sales CSV carries both: the original amount and currency as the store reported it, the converted amount, and the rate used. That's the file to open when you want to check a conversion.

Because the rates belong to the period, the same sale converted in a later period can give a slightly different figure. Your record company chooses the rates and can explain the ones they used.

## If you're paid in more than one currency

Each currency is accounted separately, with its own statement for the period. Amounts are never added across currencies.

The summary view shows one of those statements at a time. Use **Switch to ledger view** to see every currency for the period in one table.
