# When are new statements published?

> What has to happen before a period reaches your portal, and the email you get.

Your record company decides. A period appears in your portal the moment they publish it, and not before. While they're importing sales files, calculating and reviewing the results, nothing is visible to you. Qlero doesn't run a schedule of its own, so the timing follows your record company's accounting cycle and your agreement with them.

## The email you receive

Publishing sends you an email with the statement PDF attached. The subject is your record company's name and the period, such as "Qlero Records - 2025M8", and the **View Statement** button takes you to the portal.

The email also tells you where the period left your balance, in one of three ways:

* Your closing balance is above the invoice threshold, and the email gives the address and VAT details to invoice.
* Your closing balance is below the threshold, so it carries forward to the next period.
* Your balance is negative, so nothing can be invoiced yet.

You get one email per payee you're connected to, sent once per period.

## If you're expecting a statement

**No statements exist yet** with **Check back later** means nothing has been published to you so far.

Your record company can publish to some payees before others, so another artist on the same label seeing their statement doesn't mean yours is late. If a period you're expecting hasn't arrived, ask your record company rather than Qlero, since only they can publish it.

## Next steps

* Check the most recent one from your [Dashboard](/artists/overview/dashboard).
* See why older periods may be missing in [Why don't I see older statements?](/artists/statements/missing-older-statements).
