An account groups contracts under a payee with its own running balance, so recoupment can be tracked per group of deals rather than only per payee. Every payee starts with one automatically created account, named Default account. For when to add more, see How to use contracts, accounts and payees.

Fields
Name Required The name of the account. Must be unique within its payee.
Account code. An optional external code identifier for the account.
Payee Required The payee that owns this account. Preselected when you create the account from the payee’s own Accounts tab.
Cross-recoupable. Whether a negative closing balance transfers to the payee, so the payee’s other accounts can recoup it. The Default account has this switched on.
Threshold. An optional amount the account’s closing balance must reach before it transfers to the payee. Below it, the balance carries forward to the next period.
