The quantity behind the period’s royalties, and what it counts.
Total Units is how many sales the period’s royalties were calculated from: streams, downloads, and physical copies, added together across every store and territory in the statement. It covers the tracks and releases your contracts reach. The count isn’t reduced by your share of a track, so a track you’re credited 50% of contributes all of its units here. Your share shows in the money, not in the count.Units and money don’t move together. A million low‑value streams can earn less than a few thousand high‑value downloads, so rising units with flat royalties usually means the mix of stores or territories changed, rather than anything being wrong.Sales that didn’t match a contract aren’t included, because they aren’t part of your statement.
