The types you’ll see
Advance. Money paid to you ahead of earnings, recouped from what you earn later. Always negative. Royalty. A royalty your record company entered manually, rather than one calculated from a sales file. Used for income that doesn’t arrive as sales data, such as a licensing deal. Reserve Withheld. An amount held back against future returns. Negative. Reserve Released. A held-back amount given back to you. Positive. Other. Anything that doesn’t fit the types above. The name your record company typed tells you what it is. Payments aren’t listed here. They have their own card and their own page. The name is the only description you get, so if an entry isn’t clear, ask your record company what it covers. They can see the full entry, including the date it was booked.Next steps
